New York Victims of Child Sexual Abuse
New York Victims of Child Sexual Abuse
Update: On August 3, 2020, Governor Andrew Cuomo extended the “look back window” that survivors of childhood sexual abuse had to file lawsuits against private and public institutions barred by the statute of limitations. Victims can now file claims until Aug. 14, 2021.
Morgan & Morgan attorneys are helping New York State victims of child sexual abuse seek justice and compensation from the institutions that failed to protect them; including churches, schools, religious organizations, summer camps, and youth recreation organizations like the Boy Scouts of America.
It’s a new day in New York State. A law that went into effect August 2019 means that no matter how old a victim of child sexual abuse is, or how long ago the abuse occurred, they now have a one-year window of opportunity to pursue justice and compensation from their abuser and the organizations that enabled that abuse.
This means a second chance at justice for untold thousands of victims, including many who are now only able to come forward thanks to our society’s changing attitudes towards these crimes and their survivors.
If you or a loved one suffered sexual abuse as a child, contact us today to find out if we can help you pursue the long-overdue compensation you deserve.

They Failed Our Children
Thousands of scholastic, religious, and recreational organizations are trusted by millions of American parents to safely and responsibly care for their children. But in too many cases, that trust may have been misplaced.
We now know that thousands and thousands of children have been sexually abused on the premises and while under the care of hundreds of these organizations and institutions.
We also know that many of these organizations and institutions knew they weren’t doing enough to protect these children, that many allowed known abusers to remain on staff, and that many tried to cover all of this up, sometimes for decades.
The full breadth of the devastation caused by these decisions, these failures, is hard to come to grips with. So much pain and suffering, so many lives ruined.

Morgan & Morgan child sexual abuse attorneys fight for New York victims who were failed by these organizations and institutions.
