Back in 2018, from February to March, the nationally-known grocery store ALDI sold deep fryers manufactured by the Chinese company Guangzhou Linkco Electrical Industries Limited for only $15. Unfortunately, customers would soon learn that this fantastic deal was really too good to be true. Due to the malfunctions of the deep fryer, the element would overheat, posing fire and burn hazards. Since the sale of these kitchen gadgets began, there had been three reports of the deep fryers catching on fire—including three reports of minor property damage.
How Do I Know if My ALDI Deep Fryer Was Recalled?
This recall, numbered #18-152, involves the Ambiano mini deep fryer, which was sold in two colors, brushed stainless steel and red. The recalled deep fryers all have a black lid and were sold with a metal food basket. The fryers also measure about 9.45 inches wide by 10.43 inches high by 8.23 inches deep. These units have Ambiano printed on the front, and you can find the barcode numbers listed on the bottom of the unit, right on the silver rating label.
