Serta Recalls Perfect Sleeper Mattress Due to Fire Hazards
The Mattress company known as Serta, Inc., has issued a major recall on a line of their sleeper mattresses. In 2021, the company released a string of beds under the name "Serta Perfect Sleeper," and the materials used to make these mattresses are now known to pose a fire hazard and have failed inspections for federal flammability standards. When you buy a product, you expect that it will work properly—not that it would hurt you. Unfortunately, that's not always the case. Regardless of the intention behind creating a product, when companies neglect to keep the safety of their consumers in front of profit margins, they should be held accountable for their negligent actions. Did My Sleeper Mattress Fail to Meet Mandatory Federal Standards?
As previously mentioned, this recall only involves the Serta, Inc., Perfect Sleeper-branded mattresses. The perfect sleeper mattresses were manufactured from July 15, 2021, through August 6, 2021. Physical identifiers consumers should look out for on the recalled product are the white single-sided mattresses that have navy blue side panels. The mattresses that were sold came in the sizes of twin, twin XL, full, queen, king, and California king. For further identification of the recalled mattress, you can locate the manufacture date in DD/MM/YY format, as well as the model number and "Prototype ID: L1" on a white tag that has been sewn into the head of the mattress.
