New Haven Woman Seriously Injured in Truck Crash

Multiple cars in crash

A three-vehicle crash on Interstate 91 in Connecticut put one woman in the hospital on Monday afternoon, The Record-Journal reported. The incident occurred near exit nine on the northbound side. The crash happened around noon, when 29-year-old Amanda Castillo of New Haven slowed her Subaru Outback with traffic and was struck from behind by an Infiniti driven by 44-year-old Eric H. Kwon. Castillo’s vehicle spun out of control and was then struck by an oncoming Mack truck driven by William Demers. Castillo was transported to the Yale-New Haven Hospital by ambulance.

State Police Troop I responded to the scene, where officials closed several lanes for around four hours. The investigation into the accident is still ongoing.

A truck crash can upend your life in an instant. Automotive repairs, medical care, lost days at work, and the possibility of permanent impairment are all a huge burden to bear on top of your pain and suffering. If you are the victim in a motor vehicle accident, you may be entitled to compensation related to these damages.

But securing the compensation you need to recover can be hard. The insurance companies responsible for paying you may attempt to deny, delay, or lowball your claim. Fighting back against the insurance companies means navigating thorny and confusing legal terrain. If you don’t know your rights, you could wind up with a tiny fraction of what you are owed.

On average, plaintiffs who hire attorneys after a car or truck crash earn three times more in injury compensation. When it comes to personal injury attorneys, not all lawyers are created equal.
