A crash between an ambulance and a semi truck in Blackford County, Indiana, sent four people to the hospital on Nov. 25, CBS 4 Indiana reported. The collision occurred at around 10 a.m. at the intersection of State Road 3 and County Road 300. The tractor-trailer was heading southbound on State Road 3 when it slowed to make a left-hand turn onto County Road 300 S. The ambulance was making an emergency patient transfer from IU Health Blackford Community Hospital to IU Health Ball Memorial and traveling southbound behind the semi in the northbound lane. The ambulance struck the semi in the trailer, injuring the occupants of the ambulance but not the driver of the tractor-trailer.

The occupants of the ambulance included the 40-year-old driver, Shawn Blair, two medics, 25-year-old Travis Huff and 50-year-old Tamara McCammon, and a patient, whose identity was not disclosed. All of the injured were treated at Indiana University Health Ball Memorial Hospital. The incident caused significant damage to the front end of the ambulance as well as the trailer of the semi. The crash is still under investigation.
