Matt Morgan's Walk for Wishes Returns for Ninth Year

Matt Morgan's Walk for Wishes Returns for Ninth Year - Marathon Runners

For the ninth year in a row, the Orlando Walk for Wishes will help make children’s dreams come true.

This charity walk, sponsored by our very own Matt Morgan, is organized every year in order to raise money for the Make-A-Wish foundation of Central & Northern Florida and will take place on March 16 at Lake Eola Park in downtown Orlando.

Matt Morgan has been involved in this charity walk since day one. This cause holds a special place in Matt’s heart, both as a father and a lifelong Orlando resident. Contributing to this important event is just one of the ways Matt Morgan is able to give back to the community that has been his home for his entire life.

Raised by John, who created this firm to be “for the people,” it is no surprise that Matt extends that motto from the courtroom to the community.

The Make-A-Wish Foundation was founded in 1980 in order to give children with life threatening medical conditions an opportunity to live out their dreams. The wishes usually fall into four categories: “I wish to go, I wish to be, I wish to meet, or I wish to have.” Make-A-Wish organizes the wish, but the child’s desire and imagination determine the scope of what the foundation does.

The Make-A-Wish of Central & Northern Florida has been able to grant over 5,300 wishes since 1994. This year, they hope to bring joy to 320 children. In order to grant all those wishes the charity walk will need to raise $300,000.

Thus far, people have contributed more than $180,000, and with more than two weeks still to go the end goal is well within reach.

If you are in the Orlando area on March 16, head down to the Lake Eola Park to help make a child’s wish come true.  The casual two mile walk begins at 5:30pm and will be followed by an after-party. You are able to register for the race here. If you can’t make it that Wednesday, you can still donate!
