John Morgan Receives Barry University Champion of Justice Award - Justice Medal

John Morgan was given the 2014 Champion of Justice Award from Barry University on April 10 for his generous contributions to helping the community of Central Florida.

“It is a great honor,” Morgan said of receiving the award. “Justice is my favorite word. Being a Champion of Justice is extra special.”

Presented by the Dwayne O. Andreas School of Law{: target="_blank"}, Barry University’s Champion of Justice Award is presented to individuals who epitomize the highest ethical and professional standards within the legal industry in service of the people of Central Florida. Located in Miami, Barry University has given out its Champion of Justice Award annually since 2011 as part of Orlando Magazine’s yearly Best Lawyers feature. In this year’s installment, which highlighted more than 400 lawyers working within nearly 80 areas of practice, six Morgan & Morgan attorneyswere proudly included, with Business Trial Group attorney David Oliver receiving the Attorney of the Year award for “Bet-The-Company” Litigation.

In addition to his work helping the people of Central Florida, which includes establishing The People’s Clinic to provide uninsured children with free medical care, and Morgan and his wife, Ultima, helped open the Morgan & Morgan, P.A. Hunger Relief Center in 2013 with the Second Harvest Food Bank of Central Florida.

Founded in 1940 by the Adrian Dominican Sisters, Barry University is a Catholic college that prides itself on enriching students’ lives and futures through a commitment to its religious identity, community service, and the pursuit knowledge that “promotes the common good and a more human and just society.”
