Biography Overview
Sara Mieczkowski grew up in St. Petersburg, Florida and graduated from Florida State University with degrees in English Literature and Political Science. While at FSU she was active in Greek life as a Delta Gamma, a Rho Gamma, and a member of the Greek Judicial Board. She returned to Tampa Bay to attend law school at Stetson University College of Law, graduating in 2010 with a concentration in Advocacy. While at Stetson she made the Dean’s List, was active in the Student Bar Association, and was a teaching assistant to the Honorable David A. Demers. Additionally, Sara joined the school’s top-ranked Trial Team where she won a National Championship after her team defeated over 240 other teams from law schools around the country to win the American Association for Justice’s Student Trial Advocacy Competition. She was awarded the Henry Burnett Trial Advocacy Award at graduation. She has remained involved with her alma mater as a Trial Team coach and as an adjunct professor of Trial Advocacy.
After law school Sara put her trial skills to work as an Assistant Public Defender in the Sixth Judicial Circuit in Pinellas County, where she represented thousands of clients in matters up to and including capital murder allegations. She then transitioned to federal practice as an Assistant Federal Defender in Tampa, handling hundreds of complex federal matters as lead counsel. Sara had tried dozens of cases and brings a wealth of state and federal trial experience to Morgan & Morgan, where she is honored to continue to put her advocacy skills to work for the people, not the powerful.
