Biography Overview
Born and raised in Melbourne, Florida, Johnathan Burns is a first generation college student who obtained his undergraduate degree at the University of Central Florida in Legal Studies, and then went on to attain his law degree from the University of Florida in May of 2018.
The son of a construction worker and a waitress, Johnathan was raised to understand and appreciate the value of time, money, and hard work. When he was a child, Johnathan spent years visiting the Melbourne Courthouse between his parent's divorce, custody battles, and criminal charges, and ultimately decided at age 6 that he wanted to become a lawyer, impressed with the prestige and posterity that the judges and lawyers both brought to the cases.
After graduating from law school, Johnathan went on to the Brevard County Public Defender's Office where he represented the indigent on charges from simple trespass cases to second degree murder cases. Johnathan represented hundreds of clients over his almost six years as a Public Defender, and has joined Morgan and Morgan for the same mission of assisting the downtrodden and mistreated that he has pursued since he first stepped foot into the Brevard County Courthouse.
