
Biography Overview
Yasmeen Gumbs was born on the island of St. Thomas, United States Virgin Island and raised in New York City. She attended the University of New Orleans on a Division I Track & Field Scholarship where she earned her Bachelor of Arts in Political Science with a minor in History. Yasmeen graduated with her Juris Doctorate from Appalachian School of Law.
Yasmeen is currently the Pre-Suit Operations Manager for the New York and Washington DC offices. Yasmeen is a former Partner with over 15 years of litigation experience handling personal injury, commercial litigation, property damage, premise liability and labor law matters. She has successfully defended high exposure cases in court and during mediation. Yasmeen is admitted to the New York State Bar, Pennsylvania Bar, United States District Courts for the Southern, Eastern and Western Districts of New York.
In addition to her work as an attorney, Yasmeen Gumbs is a Board Member with the Salvation Army of New York where she focuses on the teen mentorship program. She also volunteers her time as an American Bar Association Law School Division National Appellate Advocacy Competition Judge. The American Bar Association recognized Yasmeen for her contribution the practice of law and being crowned Mrs. New York America 2020.
