Biography Overview
Teresa Arnold-Simmons was born and raised in Lexington, South Carolina. She attended the University of South Carolina, obtaining a Bachelor of Arts in English in 1988. She then obtained her J.D. from the University of South Carolina School of Law in 1992 where she was managing editor of the ABA Real Property, Probate and Trust Journal.
Following law school, Ms. Arnold-Simmons clerked for the South Carolina Court of Appeals for Acting Judge and Retired South Carolina Supreme Court Justice Bruce Littlejohn. She was a board member of the Columbia Chamber of Commerce and a member of Leadership Columbia,
Ms. Arnold-Simmons is a fellow of the Litigation Counsel of America, an organization requiring nomination from clients. She served on its advisory board from 2009-2014. In 2016 Ms. Arnold-Simmons was invited to and joined the prestigious Federation of Defense and Corporate Counsel, an invitation only organization requiring input from judges, plaintiff and defense counsel and clients.
Ms. Arnold-Simmons has tried medical malpractice and nursing home cases in both Florida and South Carolina courts. She is a member of the Florida Bar and South Carolina Bar. She is admitted to practice in state courts in Florida and South Carolina, the U.S. Middle District of Florida, U.S. Court of Appeals for the Eleventh Circuit and the District of South Carolina.
In her spare time, Ms. Arnold-Simmons enjoys spending time with her family, her pets and volunteering with First Coast No More Homeless Pets.
