Biography Overview
Tamara A. Merdach is an attorney in our Charleston, South Carolina office. After graduating from Charleston School of Law in 2020, Tamara practiced insurance defense litigation in Columbia, South Carolina, defending individuals involved in motor vehicle accidents and other personal injury cases. Eager to get back to the Lowcountry, Tamara joined a prominent insurance defense firm in Charleston, South Carolina, where she practiced workers’ compensation insurance defense. While practicing insurance defense at prior firms, Tamara gained valuable insight into the operations and strategies of insurance companies, as well as first-hand experience handling claims and litigating before the courts of South Carolina and the South Carolina Workers’ Compensation Commission.
During law school, Tamara served on the Criminal Justice Committee, was an Assistant in the law library, and served as the Treasurer of the Immigration Law Association. During her last year of law school, she was a Law Clerk for three reputable law firms in Charleston, where she was exposed to various areas of law, such as immigration law, corporate law, and legal services for homeless Veterans, individuals and families. Prior to law school, Tamara worked as a Claims Adjuster for one of the largest insurance companies in the nation for two years. Tamara obtained her Bachelor of Arts degree in Legal Studies with a minor in Social Justice from George Mason University.
Tamara was raised in Richmond, Virginia. In her free time, she enjoys listening to podcasts, personal fitness, Charleston cuisine, and spending time with her family, including her cat, Foxy. Tamara is admitted to the South Carolina Bar and the Washington, D.C. Bar.
