Meet Meranda Landes
Meranda is originally from Land O’ Lakes, Florida, and obtained her Bachelor of Science degree from the University of South Florida, becoming the first person in her family to graduate from college. Subsequently, she obtained her Juris Doctorate degree from FAMU College of Law while working full time.
She has served on the board of directors for Pace Center for Girls, Orange, and on the advisory board for Central Florida Urban League Community Policing Forum sponsored by the Office of the Attorney General. She currently is a Guardian ad Litem, Teen Court Judge with the Orange County Bar Association Legal Aid, is a member of the Legal Needs for Children committee with the Florida Bar, serves on the Board of Directors for Central Florida Association for Women Lawyers and as the Legislative Director for the statewide Florida Association for Women Lawyers. She is also an active member in the University of South Florida’s Women in Leadership & Philanthropy.
Meranda is a 2021 graduate of Orlando Economic Partnership’s Political Leadership Institute. In 2024, Meranda presented and lobbied for HB 461 – excusal from jury service for new mothers, which was unanimously passed by the House and Senate and signed into law by Governor DeSantis.
Recently, Meranda was awarded as a Leader in the Law by the Florida Association for Women Lawyers and recognized by Florida Bar President for her pro bono work.
In 2024, Meranda presented and lobbied for HB 461 – excusal from jury service for new mothers, which was unanimously passed by the House and Senate and signed into law by Governor DeSantis.
In her limited spare time, she enjoys playing golf and tennis, spending time with her crazy dalmatian, reading and cooking.
