Biography Overview
Matthew Gunter is a seasoned trial attorney with a strong foundation in both criminal and employment law. A graduate of the University of Florida with a degree in Criminal Justice, Mr. Gunter discovered his passion for the legal field early on. He earned his Juris Doctor from Barry University Dwayne O. Andreas School of Law in 2009 and began his legal career as an Assistant State Attorney in Florida’s 18th Judicial Circuit for Seminole County. There, he prosecuted thousands of cases, including charges of Grand Theft, DUI, Possession of Cannabis, and Domestic Violence Battery. This role provided him with extensive courtroom experience and sharpened his skills as a litigator.
Mr. Gunter later transitioned into employment law, where he now applies his robust trial background to complex civil litigation. As an attorney with Morgan & Morgan, P.A., he represents workers across the country in nationwide class and collective actions under the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) and Title VII of the Civil Rights Act of 1964. His practice focuses on wage and hour violations—including unpaid overtime and employee misclassification—as well as systemic discrimination and retaliation claims.
Mr. Gunter’s trial experience, honed through years in criminal courtrooms and further strengthened by high-stakes employment litigation, allows him to effectively advocate for his clients at every stage of litigation. From class certification and motion practice to settlement negotiations and trial, he brings strategic insight and proven courtroom ability to each case. His work in multi-state, large-scale class actions ensures that workers nationwide receive the dedicated and experienced representation they deserve.
