Biography Overview
James “Jim” Goodnow was born and raised in upstate New York. He graduated with honors from the State University of New York at Oswego and attended law school in his hometown at Syracuse University College of Law.
Following law school, Mr. Goodnow moved to Florida and began his legal career as an Assistant State Attorney in Pasco County, where he tried numerous cases. He often prosecuted the office’s toughest cases involving the most serious crimes and worst criminals, earning a reputation as an aggressive trial attorney who fought hard for justice on behalf of the victims of crimes.
Prior to joining Morgan & Morgan, Mr. Goodnow was a partner in a large Florida insurance defense law firm where he successfully defended multiple Florida insurance carriers throughout the State of Florida in various types of homeowner and commercial insurance claims by their insureds, including losses caused by water, mold, wind, hail and fire. His success includes the defense of these insurance carriers at Trial and the verdicts he obtained in their favor on a variety of insurance claims.
After years of defending insurance companies and watching how they worked to deny and underpay valid claims by their insureds, Mr. Goodnow now exclusively represents insured policyholders and homeowners who have had their insurance claims wrongfully denied or underpaid by their insurance company. If you need help with your insurance claim, contact Morgan & Morgan so Mr. Goodnow can help you.
