Why: The Husqvarna residential 300 series snow blowers can unexpectedly go into drive mode and collide with a consumer, posing an injury hazard.

How Can I Identify the Product?: Husqvarna can identify the snow blowers by their orange and black colors and the Husqvarna logo painted on the front plastic cover. Or by the product and serial numbers located on the right side of the unit behind the tire.

 

On July 6th, 2023, Husqvarna Professional Products Inc. of Charlotte, North Carolina, issued a nationwide recall on nearly 3k of their Residential 300 Series Snow Blowers. The recall comes after the company received 22 reports where the auger pulley bolt loosened, and the drive unexpectedly became engaged. When engaged, the machine could potentially collide with a consumer, posing an injury hazard. According to the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC), there have been no injuries have been reported thus far.

The Residential 300 Series Snow Blowers were manufactured in the United States and sold with Husqvarna authorized dealers and various hardware stores nationwide. Customers were also able to purchase the snow blower online at www.husqvarna.com. The recalled products were sold from July 2022 through February 2023 for between $1,350 and $1,800. Roughly 2,700 units were sold in the united states (in addition, about 4,400 were sold in Canada).

 

Identifying the Recalled Husqvarna Snow Blowers

As mentioned, this recall involves Husqvarna-branded gas-powered residential 300 Series Snow Blowers. The model numbers of the recalled snow blowers are ST 324, ST 327, and ST 330. The snow blowers are orange and black, with the Husqvarna logo painted on the front plastic cover. Depending on the model, customers will find that the product is about 46 inches tall, 54 inches deep, and 24 to 30 inches wide. Customers can also locate the model, product, and serial numbers on the right side of the unit behind the tire. Below we have listed the products included in the recall.
