[Taylorsville, KY] – A Spencer County, KY jury has awarded a $953,437.32 verdict to a man who suffered significant injuries from a head-on collision in 2022. Attorneys Danielle Blandford, Kelli Lester, Adrian Mendiondo and Mitchell Stoltz from Morgan & Morgan, America’s largest injury firm, represented the plaintiff in his case against Acuity Insurance.

On May 30, 2022, the 47-year-old plaintiff was driving on Lilly Pike in Taylorsville, KY when another driver crossed the center line and struck his vehicle. The plaintiff suffered a concussion, a neck injury and a permanent aggravation of a pre-existing spinal injury in his back.

“Our client is a down-to-earth man who has worked hard to adjust to the ‘new normal’ of his injuries,” said Morgan & Morgan founder John Morgan and attorney Danielle Blandford. “Before the crash, he owned a concrete company, but the injuries he suffered forced him to close his business. We’re proud to have overcome efforts by the defense to minimize our client’s injuries, including through invasive surveillance video, and to have won a just verdict.”

The plaintiff was forced to file a lawsuit against Acuity Insurance, his own insurance company, when they failed to settle his uninsured/underinsured motorist claim.

The case was heard by Judge Melanie Brummer in Spencer Circuit Court, Case No. 23-CI-00073. Acuity Insurance was represented by attorney Jason Morgan of Jason Morgan Law.
