Two new cases added to mounting litigation over Dexcom continuous glucose monitoring devices

[San Diego, CA] – Morgan & Morgan, America’s largest injury law firm, has filed two new lawsuits against Dexcom, Inc., on behalf of families whose children allegedly suffered severe medical emergencies while using the company’s G7 continuous glucose monitors.

“Dexcom marketed this device as a safe and accurate replacement for finger sticks,” said Morgan & Morgan founder John Morgan. “In doing so, they garnered the trust of parents of diabetic children who have come to depend on it to keep their children safe, but some of the devices allegedly did not work properly.”

One of the new lawsuits involves a 7-year-old California girl who was hospitalized in November 2025 with profound diabetic ketoacidosis (DKA), a life-threatening complication that can occur when the body does not have enough insulin. The lawsuit alleges her Dexcom G7 malfunctioned and significantly misreported her glucose levels, leaving her family unaware that her blood sugar had reached dangerous levels.

The other lawsuit was brought by the family of a 10-year-old Tennessee girl who was rushed to the hospital in August 2025 after her Dexcom G7 allegedly failed to warn that her blood sugar had fallen to dangerously low levels, a condition known as hypoglycemia. By the time she arrived at the hospital, the lawsuit alleges, her condition was so severe that she experienced convulsive seizures requiring medical professionals to restrain her body.

“These lawsuits are about accountability,” said Morgan & Morgan attorneys Shannon Pennock and Jack Rutherford. “We want to ensure no one else is harmed by a device they depend on to survive.”

Morgan & Morgan has now filed 11 lawsuits against Dexcom involving both the G7 and earlier-generation G6 glucose monitors on behalf of plaintiffs in California, Florida, New Jersey, Tennessee, Kentucky and Louisiana. Three of these cases involve minor children, and four allege that Dexcom users died from medical events that plaintiffs contend could have been prevented had the devices functioned properly. The Dexcom G7 has also been subject to multiple recalls.

Dexcom, Inc.’s global headquarters are in San Diego, CA. The complaint was filed in the Superior Court of the State of California – County of San Diego; the case numbers are 26CU047865C and 26CU045398C.
