Morgan & Morgan partner Emily Jeffcott has been appointed as Co-Lead Counsel in the California consolidated litigation against major social media companies for enabling addictive behavior and causing other significant injuries in adolescents.
“I am honored to be appointed as Co-Lead Counsel over California consolidated cases against social media companies. For years, Meta and other social media companies knew of the negative impacts on their young users’ mental health and the addiction risks that their platforms posed and failed to warn consumers. I will work with my fellow co-leads and committee members as we fight for accountability and justice for those affected.”
Morgan & Morgan currently represents hundreds of clients bringing claims against social media companies for the alleged harm they have caused young people, including suicide, eating disorders, and other types of destructive self-harm.
Jeffcott is a renowned MDL litigator having served on the Plaintiffs Steering Committees for the Juul Labs, Taxotere, and Valsartan litigation, in addition to serving as trial counsel in all bellwether trials for Xarelto.
