Family of man killed at Anheuser Busch brewery files lawsuit
Injured?
The family of a 22-year-old man who was fatally stabbed by a coworker at the Anheuser-Busch brewery in Jacksonville, FL is suing the company, alleging their negligence contributed to their son’s death.
October 30, 2025 was Antoine Autry II’s first day on the job at the Anheuser-Busch brewery as a temp worker employed by a third-party staffing agency. Another temp worker, Jason Guthrie, was assigned to work at the plant alongside Mr. Autry. Mr. Guthrie allegedly stabbed Mr. Autry several times with a knife he had brought into the facility, ultimately killing him.
Mr. Guthrie has pleaded not guilty to a charge of second-degree murder.
The attached complaint alleges Anheuser-Busch failed to implement security measures that could have prevented Mr. Guthrie from bringing his knife to work and fatally attacking Mr. Autry.
A statement follows from Morgan & Morgan founder John Morgan and attorney Brian Moore:
“A 22-year-old man is dead because of the sick and depraved actions allegedly carried out by Mr. Guthrie. Anheuser-Busch, however, has a responsibility to keep their premises safe and prevent violent incidents like this. We hope this lawsuit uncovers answers as to how Mr. Guthrie was able to enter the brewery with a deadly weapon, and if there was any supervision of the workers in the room where this occurred. This is an absolute tragedy of a young life taken too soon, and we are pursuing all avenues of justice for these grieving parents to ensure this never happens again.”
