Meet the Smith Brothers, Leaders of Our New Albany Office
Heading up our office in New Albany are two brothers who are Southern Indiana natives. Brandon and John Smith had their own law firm in New Albany before they joined Morgan & Morgan, but the brothers have always been “for the people.”. We’re delighted they joined our team to help us provide quality legal representation throughout Southern Indiana.
John Smith worked as a claims adjuster and claims manager for a major insurance company before he obtained his Juris Doctor from the University of Louisville Brandeis School of Law in 2004. This gives him a unique perspective in handling personal injury cases, such as car accidents. Since he and his brother started their firm, John has handled all aspects of personal injury cases in both state and federal courts throughout Indiana and the Commonwealth of Kentucky.
Brandon Smith also worked as an insurance adjuster before graduating law school and becoming a lawyer in 2006. Since 2010, he has devoted his practice to helping the people, not the powerful, such as insurance companies, landlords, and government entities throughout Kentuckiana. He handles a wide variety of personal injury and premises liability case in addition to civil rights cases.
We look forward to Brandon and John continuing their work for the people as part of the Morgan & Morgan family. To learn more about how Brandon or John may be able to help with your legal issue, contact us today for a free case review.
How Much Is My Personal Injury Case Worth?
Every personal injury case is different and the value of each case depends on the specific circumstances of the incident. Some case are only worth the value of the property damage and medical bills that resulted from the accident, while more severe incidents can lead to large verdicts or settlements that include punitive damages because of the exceptionally egregious nature of the accident.
Before you can determine how much your case may be worth, you’ll need to consult an attorney with experience handling cases similar to yours. They will be able to accurately determine what your claim is worth and the viability of your claim.
While every accident and injury does not require the services of an attorney, it is worth consulting at the very least to learn about the value of your claim so you can deal with the insurance company more confidently.

Can I Afford a Morgan & Morgan Attorney?
People injured by another’s negligence are often eligible for some combination of compensation for medical bills, property damage, and lost wages, among other damages, but getting this compensation is often easier said than done.
An attorney can help fight on your behalf to get the maximum compensation that you are entitled to, but a good attorney can be prohibitively expensive and not everyone can afford to hire a legal advocate.
As the “For the People” law firm, we want to provide quality legal representation to anyone who needs it, not just those who can afford it. After all, justice shouldn’t only be available to those with a large enough bank account.
That’s why we offer legal services on a contingency-fee basis, meaning you don’t pay anything unless we win your case. Our attorneys only receive a reasonable fee — a percentage of your recovery — if they win your case. Otherwise, our services won’t cost you a penny.
Working on a contingency-fee basis also ensures our attorneys are just as interested in the outcome of your case as you are. This includes going to trial if that’s what it takes to get you fairly compensated. Your victory is our victory, too.
