The following product recalls have been announced this week—make sure you’re in the know.
2022–2025 Toyota Tundra and 2023–2025 Sequoia Hybrid Vehicles
Toyota has recalled its 2022–2025 Tundra and 2023–2025 Sequoia Hybrid vehicles due to a rearview camera defect. A software issue in the parking assist electronic control unit can prevent the rearview image from displaying when the vehicle is in reverse, increasing the risk of a crash.
2024 Chevrolet Equinox EV
Chevrolet is recalling approximately 23,700 units of the 2024 Equinox EV due to pedestrian-safety concerns. The vehicles’ software calibration for the external alert sound may be incorrect or inconsistent, causing the car to be too quiet at low speeds and potentially fail to comply with federal requirements for hybrid and electric vehicles.
2024–2025 Hyundai Santa Fe
Hyundai has recalled approximately 135,386 Santa Fe SUVs from the 2024 and 2025 model years due to a fire risk stemming from an improperly installed starter motor cover. The protective cover over the “B+” terminal may not be fully seated, allowing it to potentially contact the cooling-fan assembly in a crash, which could lead to an electrical short and ignition.
2021–2022 Nissan LEAF
Nissan has recalled around 19,077 units of the 2021–2022 LEAF due to a risk of battery fire. Excess lithium deposits can form inside the battery cells, raising electrical resistance and causing rapid heating during DC fast (Level 3) charging. In extreme cases, this overheating may lead to a fire, posing a serious safety hazard.
2025 Toyota Sienna
Toyota is recalling approximately 55,000 units of the 2025 Sienna minivan due to a defect with the second-row seat mounting. The seat rails may not have been welded properly, which could compromise their structural integrity in a crash and increase the risk of injury.
Bmrwtg LED Tutu Skirts
Bmrwtg has recalled its children’s LED tutu skirts due to the risk of serious injury or death from battery ingestion. The skirts’ LED lights contain lithium coin (button) batteries in an accessible compartment, allowing children to remove and swallow them.
YGJT Baby Loungers
YGJT has recalled its baby loungers due to risks of entrapment and falls. The loungers’ sides are too low to securely contain an infant, and the foot-end openings are wider than permitted. Additionally, because the loungers lack a stand, placing them on elevated surfaces can lead to falls.
Mom Genius Retractable Safety Gates
Mom Genius is recalling its retractable safety gates due to an entrapment risk that violates the mandatory standard for gates and enclosures. The gates allow a child’s torso to fit through the opening between the gate and the floor, posing the risk of serious injury or death.
Bellabu Bear Children’s Robes
Bellabu Bear has recalled approximately 1,300 children's robes due to a burn hazard. The robes fail to meet the mandatory flammability standards for children's sleepwear, posing a risk of burn injuries.
Ritons 3mm Magnetic Ball Sets
Ritons is recalling approximately 5,800 sets of 3mm magnetic balls due to a serious ingestion hazard. The sets contain small, high-powered magnets that can detach and pose a risk if swallowed by children. If ingested, these magnets can attract each other or other metal objects inside the digestive system, potentially leading to intestinal perforations, twisting, blockages, blood poisoning, or even death.
ESR HaloLock Wireless Power Banks
Waymeet has expanded its recall of ESR HaloLock wireless power banks to include an additional model, 2G505, due to fire and burn hazards. The lithium-ion batteries in these devices can overheat and ignite, posing risks to consumers. This expansion adds to the previous recall of models 2G520, 2G505B, and 2G512B.
EcoFlow Delta Max 2000 Power Stations
EcoFlow Technology has recalled approximately 25,000 Delta Max 2000 power stations (Model EFD310) due to a fire and burn hazard. The lithium-ion batteries in these units can overheat and ignite, posing a risk of serious burn injuries and fire.
Living Glow Portable Waist Fans
Guangzhou Jiguang Lighting has recalled approximately 48,000 Living Glow five-in-one portable waist fans (model number CP-WFLED01) due to a fire hazard. The lithium-ion batteries in these devices can overheat while charging, posing a risk of fire.
Ambiano Electric Pressure Cookers
Tempo USA is recalling approximately 46,660 Ambiano electric pressure cookers due to a serious burn hazard. The lid can be opened before sufficient steam pressure has been released, causing hot contents to escape and posing a risk of burn injuries to consumers. Multiple burn injuries have been reported.
Scripto Premium Torches
Calico Brands has recalled approximately 175,000 Scripto Premium Torches due to a fire and burn hazard. The torches fail to meet the mandatory safety standards for multipurpose lighters, posing a risk of injury or death from fires and burns.
