    Kansas City Social Security Disability

After a major accident, you may not know what is in store for your future or for those who depend on you. This is especially difficult news to cope with if your injuries have left you temporarily or even permanently unable to work. Which is why the relief from Social Security Disability (SSDI) benefits works as a safety net for so many Americans in need of help. Unfortunately, the process to apply and become approved for benefits can be an uphill battle. While your claim may be legitimate, the Social Security Administration may still choose to deny your application, leaving you to pick up the pieces.

If you are in Kansas City and have been denied your SSDI benefits, you are not alone. With over 700 lawyers and over 9 billion recovered for our clients, when you hire us, you can rest assured we’ll do everything in our power to help you recover the compensation you need to get your life back on track. FAQ
    • Do I Qualify for Social Security Disability?

In Kansas City, MO, in order to be eligible for Social Security Disability insurance or Supplemental Security Income (SSI), you are required to be able to authenticate your claim for total disability with the Social Security Administration, or SSA.

Our attorneys understand how difficult and frustrating the application process for Kansas City disability benefits can be. Even with enough evidence gathered, the average wait time for your application to be processed is up to 16 months. Along with long wait times, over 55% of applicants are denied coverage; it’s no wonder so many Americans are struggling to get the help they need.

When you hire one of our attorneys, we’ll help review your application by walking through it to ensure you have the proper evidence in order to receive the benefits you need to survive.

    • How Can an Attorney Help Me With My Denied Claims?

After your application has been processed and denied by the SSA, our attorneys can help your case by applying for an appeal with our four-step process:

      Appeal Process for Denied Claims

Reconsideration:  When you file for an appeal, it requires that your application goes through a full review by a new Social Security reviewer. In order to help your case, your attorney may provide any further evidence they believe may support your claims.

Hearing by an Administrative Law Judge: If the Social Security Administration denies the reconsideration, your attorney may request a hearing. An administrative law judge will preside over the hearing where your disability attorney will again present the evidence that supports your claims for disability benefits. Your attorney may also be inclined to use an expert witness to illustrate further why you qualify for SSDI.

Review by Appeals Council: If the administrative law judge still denies your claim for SSDI, you may request the Social Security Appeals Council review your case. The Appeals Council considers every request for review, though they may still deny your request if they believe the decision from the hearing was correct.

Review by Federal Court: If your claim is still denied at the end of the appeals process, your attorney will file a lawsuit in federal court to overturn the SSA’s denial of your benefits.
