On August 24, 2023, the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) released a recall alert over the Aiper Elite Pro GS100 Cordless Robotic Pool Vacuum Cleaners after multiple reports determined the vacuums to be both burn and fire hazards. Shenzhen Aiper Intelligent, LLC, the company liable for the product, issued a recall notice on July 10, 2023, claiming it recently learned that the battery in the Elite Pro vacuums can overheat and cause a burn or fire hazards.

According to the reports, when the charging cord is improperly inserted into the charging receptacle, or if the Elite Pro is not charged with the correct adapter, it can cause the battery inside the product to overheat, short circuit, smoke and/or spark.
