Judge Angel Kelley of the U.S. District Court for the District of Massachusetts issued an order today in which she appointed Michael Ram of Morgan & Morgan’s Complex Litigation Group as interim co-lead counsel In re SharkNinja Pressure Cooker Litigation, Case No. 1:25-cv-11314-AK.

The litigation arose from a 2025 recall on the SharkNinja Foodi OP300 Series Multi-Function Pressure Cookers when it was found that the pressure-cooking lid on the device can be opened during use, causing hot contents to escape, posing a risk of burn injuries to consumers. While the recall offered consumers a replacement lid, it provided no monetary damages or offer to allow consumers to return their products, and no assurance that the replacement lid will perform as advertised or warranted.

According to the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission, this involved approximately 1,846,400 units in the United States. The Ninja Foodi OP300 series generally retailed in the $200 range at most stores.

A statement from Morgan & Morgan attorney Michael Ram follows:

“I am honored by the Court’s order appointing me as interim co-lead counsel in this litigation. SharkNinja had a duty to its customers and allegedly failed to adequately warn and protect them from the risk of the lid opening during operation. Along with my co-lead counsel, I look forward to holding them to account for this alleged failure, which has affected a class of approximately 1.8 million consumers.”

Michael Ram leads Morgan & Morgan’s Consumer Products Class Action group. He has held leadership positions in a number of high-profile class action cases, including against Apple, Lyft, and Philips CPAP.
