Meet Steven L. Becton II
Steven Becton’s journey began at the University of Alabama, where he earned a Bachelor of Science in Psychology in 2016. Driven by a passion for advocacy and community leadership, he moved on to Vanderbilt University Law School to pursue his Juris Doctor. During his time in law school, Steven took on a significant leadership role by serving on the executive committee of the Black Law Students Association. This experience allowed him to champion diversity and inclusion within the legal field, a commitment that has remained a cornerstone of his professional identity ever since he graduated in 2019.
After completing his legal education, Steven launched his career in the demanding world of corporate and complex commercial litigation. He gained high-level experience handling intricate matters such as shareholder derivative lawsuits, securities class actions, and merger and acquisition deal litigation. Alongside his corporate practice, Steven has always maintained a profound dedication to public service through extensive pro bono work. His efforts have spanned critical areas of the law, including criminal expungement, death penalty appeals, and civil rights litigation, ensuring that those in vulnerable positions have access to quality legal representation.
Today, Steven is a vital member of the Morgan & Morgan office in Memphis, where he has transitioned his practice to focus on personal injury cases. He brings his sharp litigation skills and diverse background to every client he represents, fighting to ensure they receive the support they deserve. Beyond his work in the courtroom, Steven remains deeply invested in his community by sitting on the boards of various non-profits focused on social justice and social cohesion. This blend of professional expertise and civic engagement allows him to approach every case with both a strategic mind and a compassionate heart.
