Meet Colin Losey

Mr.  Losey graduated  from Rice University  with  a  B.S.  in Mechanical Engineering in 2018. In 2021, he received his law degree from the University of Chicago Law School, where he received pro bono honors and participated extensively in the Mandel Legal Aid Clinic. During law school, Mr. Losey also completed an internship with the U.S. District Court for the District of Columbia.

Mr. Losey began his legal career clerking on Maryland’s highest court. Prior to joining Morgan & Morgan, Mr. Losey also clerked on the U.S. District Court for the Central District of California. While clerking, Mr. Losey analyzed a wide variety of civil and criminal motions and appeals. Clerking taught him how to read the law carefully and closely. He prides himself on meticulously reading the law and understanding what arguments it supports, and what arguments it does not support.

Mr. Losey has been a member of the Maryland Bar since 2021 and the California bar since 2023. He is also admitted to practice in the U.S. District Court for the Central District of California.

Mr. Losey is also a published author; in 2023 he published "Distinguishing Distinguishing," a taxonomy of modes of distinguishing cases, in the Green Bag. Outside of law, he has co-authored articles on the use of brain-machine interface, combined with an upper-limb exoskeleton, to help with stroke survivors' physical rehabilitation.
