Meet Barrett Johnson
Barrett Johnson graduated summa cum laude from NC State University in 2007, where he was inducted into Phi Beta Kappa for his academic excellence. During his undergraduate years, he also studied abroad at Mexico’s Instituto Tecnológico y de Estudios Superiores de Monterrey, where he became fluent in Spanish and developed a deep appreciation for Latin American culture. His passion for justice and advocacy led him to pursue a law degree at Duke Law School, where he graduated cum laude in 2013. While at Duke, Barrett served as Special Litigation Director of the Innocence Project and as Executive Editor of the Journal of Constitutional Law and Public Policy, experiences that shaped his commitment to fairness and the pursuit of justice.
Following law school, Barrett spent the first decade of his legal career representing large corporations and insurance companies. This work gave him an in-depth understanding of how defense strategies are built and how insurers approach personal injury and liability claims. Over time, he realized that the knowledge he had gained could make a powerful difference for those on the other side of the courtroom, individuals and families seeking justice after serious injuries.
Today, Barrett proudly applies that experience to advocating for injured clients as an attorney in Morgan and Morgan’s Raleigh office. His balanced perspective, bilingual abilities, and dedication to his clients allow him to approach every case with both strategic insight and empathy. Whether communicating in English or Spanish, Barrett’s goal remains the same: to help people rebuild their lives with confidence and dignity after hardship.
