Meet Adam H. Johnson
Adam H. Johnson earned his B.A. from UCLA in 2003, summa cum laude, and he began practicing law in 2008 after graduating law school from the University of Memphis, Cecil C. Humphreys School of Law. In law school, he was a member of both the University of Memphis Law Review and the University of Memphis Moot Court Board.
In his career, Mr. Johnson has successfully tried cases in various counties across West Tennessee and North Mississippi. He has also argued cases in front of both the Tennessee Court of Appeals and the Mississippi Court of Appeals.
Additionally, Mr. Johnson is an active member of the Memphis legal community. He is a graduate of the Memphis Bar Association (MBA) Leadership Forum Class of 2012-2013, and he was elected to the MBA Young Lawyers Division (YLD) Board of Governors in the fall of 2013, where he eventually served as President in 2017. He was elected to the MBA’s Board of Governors in 2019, and he served as President of the MBA in 2024 after being elected Secretary/Treasurer in 2021. Mr. Johnson was also named an “Attorney for Justice” by the Tennessee Supreme Court in recognition of his pro bono service in the community, and he was awarded a Memphis Bar Association Access to Justice Award in 2014. He was a graduate of the Tennessee Bar Association Leadership Law Class of 2016.
He was also awarded the Sam A. Myar, Jr. Memorial Award in December 2019, which is given each year to an attorney who is 40 years old or younger and who has rendered outstanding personal service to the legal profession and the Memphis community. Mr. Johnson has also served as a Hearing Committee Member for the Tennessee Board of Professional Responsibility since 2020. Mr. Johnson is admitted to practice law in Tennessee and Mississippi, and he is an active member of the Tennessee Bar Association, Memphis Bar Association, and Mississippi Bar Association, and serves on the executive committee for the American Inn of Court, Leo Bearman, Sr. Chapter.
