Case Study
Defendant Melissa Kieffer rear ended our client Paul Sniegon (64 yrs old at time of wreck) on July 15, 2020. The impact forced Sniegon into the vehicle in front of him. He had complaints of head and neck pain at the scene but refused treatment.
Three weeks later Sniegon went to his previously scheduled annual physical and complained of left shoulder pain where the seatbelt clenched down on it. The primary care physician offered physical therapy or a referral to and orthopedist, but Sniegon declined.
Four months after the wreck Sniegon was referred to Dr. Russell McKissick at Tennessee Orthopedic Alliance. Dr. McKissick diagnosed adhesive capsulitis and recommended a steroid injection and physical therapy. After two rounds of injections and physical therapy, Sniegon elected to undergo surgery, and Dr. McKissick performed a lysis of adhesions with manipulation in May 2021 (ten months post wreck).
The defense admitted liability but denied that any injury was suffered as a result of the wreck.
