Lopez, Fernando vs. Polk County School Board
Mr. Lopez was struck from behind by a school bus while stopped at a red light in Polk County, Florida. Following the crash Mr. Lopez was saddled with medical debt for treatment from his permanent injuries. In order to help recover his losses Mr. Lopez filed suit and took the case to jury trial, and won.
In addition to the compensation awarded for medical expenses, future medical expenses, and pain and suffering, The School Board is also responsible for Mr. Lopez's attorney fees and the costs of prosecuting the claim.
