Meet Trey Hawthorne

Trey Hawthorne was born and raised in Birmingham, Alabama. After completing high school, he attended Auburn University to pursue his undergraduate studies, successfully earning a degree in Finance in 2005. He was then awarded a full academic scholarship to attend the University of Alabama School of Law, from which he graduated with his Juris Doctor in 2008.

Prior to joining Morgan & Morgan, Trey spent twelve years building an extensive civil litigation practice, eventually rising to the level of partner at a defense firm in Birmingham. During this formative period, he focused heavily on representing insurance companies and their insureds in personal injury lawsuits across the state. He also maintained a highly active trucking practice representing drivers and transportation companies, defended contractors in complex construction defect litigation, and represented telecommunications companies in various matters. This diverse experience allowed Trey to handle and try numerous cases in both state and federal courts throughout Alabama, giving him an invaluable, inside understanding of how the defense evaluates and fights lawsuits.

Today, Trey brings his vast litigation background and strategic defense insights to his practice, utilizing his skills to provide top-tier advocacy for individuals and families navigating the legal system. Known for his warm and friendly demeanor, he is deeply committed to helping his clients achieve meaningful outcomes during challenging times. Outside of his legal career, Trey enjoys a vibrant family life and resides in Trussville with his wife, Jennifer, his daughter, and his two stepdaughters.
