Meet Scarlette B. Kelty
Scarlette has been a licensed attorney for nearly fifteen years, devoting nearly the entirety of her career to representing everyday injured people - the underdogs. She was born and raised in a blue-collar family in Louisville, attended Male High School, and gained admission to the Harlan Scholar Program at the University of Louisville. There, her passion for the law developed and cemented her goal of attending law school. She became exposed to lawyers and the law for the first time and saw a way to give back to the community that raised her by representing everyday people taken advantage of by the powerful. She graduated from the University of Louisville in 2008 with a Bachelors of Science in Political Science, magna cum laude.
In law school, Scarlette became involved in the Women's Law Caucus and developed a mentorship with an Assistant Commonwealth's Attorney in Louisville. While in law school, she externed at the Commonwealth Attorney's Office and worked part-time at a local personal injury firm. After graduating from law school in the top ten percent of her class, she was offered a job at the personal injury firm, where she represented injured individuals for fourteen years.
Scarlette is a member of the American Association for Justice, Jefferson County Women Lawyer's Association, Louisville Bar Association, and Kentucky Justice Association. She has served in numerous leadership roles in the Kentucky Justice Association, including as an Officer from 2020-2025. In 2017, she was awarded the Finis Price Outstanding Board Member of the Year award.
In her more than a decade practicing law, Scarlette has handled, tried, and argued on appeal many types of cases, including automobile wrecks, truck wrecks, nursing home abuse, medical malpractice, and more. At Morgan & Morgan, she focuses on pre-suit automobile wreck cases and is glad to have joined the team in 2026!
In her spare time, she enjoys spending time with her husband, daughter, and three cats.
