Meet Michael A. Hart
Michael Hart grew up in rural southern Indiana, raised in a proud, multigenerational blue-collar family. His father was a carpenter and farmer, his mother worked as a certified nursing assistant, his older brothers worked in construction and local factories, and his younger brother became a teacher. Michael learned the meaning of hard work firsthand by working in the fields and spending his college summers shoveling concrete for sixty-six hours a week. After earning his undergraduate degree in education from Indiana University Bloomington, he decided to channel that strong work ethic into the legal field to stand up for everyday working people.
In 1985, Michael moved to South Carolina to attend the University of South Carolina School of Law, earning his Juris Doctor in 1988. Following graduation, he launched his legal career in Columbia and the surrounding communities, dedicating his practice to personal injury and workers' compensation law. He spent over two decades in Columbia honing his trial skills and building a reputation as a compassionate, determined advocate for individuals facing difficult recoveries.
In 2010, Michael expanded his practice to Greenville, South Carolina, where he served clients for sixteen years. Over a distinguished career spanning nearly 38 years, he has successfully argued cases at every stage of the legal system, from initial administrative hearings to the Supreme Court of South Carolina. Today, Michael is thrilled to return to Columbia, the vibrant city where his legal journey first began and where he developed his enduring passion for the law.
Throughout his decades of practice, Michael has remained deeply committed to protecting individuals injured on the job. Knowing the unique hurdles workers face in the state, he approaches every case with the mindset of protecting his clients just as he would protect his own parents and brothers. Outside of his law practice, Michael is an exceptionally proud father to his son, Grayson, a dedicated career officer and lieutenant in the United States Navy with fifteen years of honorable service.
Beyond the courtroom, Michael is also an active artist and performer with a deep love for creative expression. A passionate musician and actor, he has showcased his talents on stages across South Carolina, performing everywhere from Greenville to Myrtle Beach. Whether he is taking on classic Shakespearean roles, playing high-energy rock and roll, or sharing his own original music, he brings the same enthusiasm, creativity, and dedication to the arts that he devotes to standing up for his clients every day.
