Meet Heather McFarlain
Heather McFarlain first discovered her passion for the law during her college years, when an argumentation and debate course alongside her pre-law studies demonstrated how thoughtful reasoning and clear advocacy could positively impact people's lives. While earning her undergraduate degree, she balanced her academics with demanding jobs in factories, restaurants, and grocery stores. That hardworking foundation taught her early lessons in perseverance, grit, and connecting naturally with people from all walks of life.
Heather went on to attend the University of San Diego School of Law, where she earned her Juris Doctor and prepared for a career dedicated to service. Upon graduation and admission to the bar, she entered military service as an attorney in the United States Army Judge Advocate General's Corps. During her distinguished military tenure, Heather served as a Trial Counsel, Special Assistant United States Attorney, Special Victim Counsel, Administrative Law Attorney, and Chief of Legal Assistance, managing essential legal operations across ten countries and mastering complex litigation under demanding circumstances.
Following her time in uniform, Heather continued her public service career as a civilian attorney with the United States Air Force at Robins Air Force Base. In this capacity, she served as Chief of Client Services and Claims, an ethics official, and a civil law attorney, providing trusted guidance on high-stakes administrative and legal matters.
Heather then transitioned into private civil practice, focusing her advocacy on helping injured individuals and employees through personal injury and workers' compensation litigation. Guiding claims seamlessly from initial intake through resolution, she worked closely with clients to coordinate medical care, develop practical litigation strategies, and negotiate fair settlements. Licensed to practice in both Georgia and Oklahoma, she has developed a reputation as an empathetic counselor who listens closely and ensures her clients always feel understood.
Today, Heather brings that wealth of military, government, and litigation experience to the Morgan & Morgan team in the Macon office, where she focuses her practice on workers' compensation law. She knows firsthand that a workplace injury disrupts every aspect of a person's life, from their health and financial security to their family's peace of mind.
