Alex Hyder is a trial attorney with Morgan & Morgan’s Philadelphia office. He has a history of fighting hard for his clients, having obtained millions of dollars in recovery by way of settlement and jury verdict. Mr. Hyder has tried a variety of personal injury cases in both state and federal courts throughout Pennsylvania and New Jersey. His specialties include trucking and motor vehicle accidents, wrongful death/survival cases, slip trip and fall cases, brain injury cases, construction accidents, elevator accidents, negligent security, and dram shop/liquor liability cases.

In 2023 at Morgan & Morgan, Mr. Hyder obtained several large jury verdicts and settlements for his clients.  In December of 2023, Mr. Hyder obtained a $2,582,425 jury verdict for his client on a trucking case in the Luzerne County (PA) Court of Common Pleas.  The top pre-trial offer was $750,000.  The verdict included punitive damages in addition to compensatory damages.  In March of 2023, Mr. Hyder obtained a $467,177 jury verdict for his client in the Delaware County Court of Common Pleas after rejecting a $150,000 pre-trial offer.

He is an active member in the Philadelphia Trial Lawyers Association and the Pennsylvania Association for Justice. 

In addition to being licensed to practice in Pennsylvania and New Jersey state courts, Mr. Hyder is licensed in the United States District Courts for the Eastern and Middle Districts of Pennsylvania as well as the United States District Court for the District of New Jersey. He obtained his bachelor’s degree from Penn State University (University Park) and his law degree from the Duquesne University School of Law. 

Mr. Hyder is also an active member of the local community. He assists Philadelphia schools in their mock trial programs, teaching students the ins and outs of jury trials. He also assists low-income families in eviction proceedings through Philadelphia V.I.P. and is an advocate for individuals and families with intellectual and developmental disabilities. 

In his personal time, Mr. Hyder is an avid 4-for-4 Philadelphia sports fan. When he’s not prepping for trial, he likes to enjoy weekends at the shore with his Goldendoodle.
