Meet Tom Kurtz

Tom Kurtz is the Workers' Compensation California Managing Attorney.  He received his undergraduate and MBA degrees at Saint Mary’s College of California. He attended Lincoln Law School of Sacramento, where he obtained his Juris Doctor and was awarded honors for the highest grades in Legal Analysis and Employment Law. While studying law, he gained experience working in the Taxpayers’ Rights Advocate Office at the California State Board of Equalization and successfully recovered a significant amount of tax liability relief and reimbursement while representing individuals, business owners, and corporate offices during appeals versus the California Franchise Tax Board and the California State Board of Equalization. On the Bar Exam, Tom’s answer to the Performance Exam question was recognized as the model answer out of over 7000 bar exam takers. Prior to practicing law, Tom spent 20 years in various levels of senior management, including director-level roles, in wireless communications technology and distribution and supply chain industries.

Tom has extensive knowledge handling Serious & Willful and Labor 132a discrimination claims, and vast experience with the intricacies of representing public safety workers, including police, firefighters, corrections, probation, and parole officers. Tom is passionate about advocating for injured workers and specializes in helping clients navigate the complexities of the legal system in workers’ compensation, driven by a passion for justice and achieving the most favorable outcome for clients while protecting their rights.
