Meet Sean Barrick

Sean Barrick’s journey is defined by a deep-seated commitment to service, beginning with his time in the United States Army from 2010 to 2015. During his military career, he deployed on combat missions in both Iraq and Afghanistan, earning numerous accolades for his service, including the Army Commendation Medal. Following an honorable discharge, Sean transitioned to academia, starting at Austin Community College before transferring to Texas State University. There, he achieved a double major, graduating with a Bachelor of Arts in both History and Philosophy. Driven by a desire to continue his advocacy, he moved from San Marcos, Texas, to Richmond, Virginia, to attend the University of Richmond School of Law. During his time as a law student, he was highly active in the community, working at the Virginia General Assembly and earning the Bonner Center's Collaboration for Change Award as well as the Carrico Center Pro Bono Certificate.

After successfully completing law school, Sean began his legal career serving in various capacities within the Virginia State Government. This period of public service eventually led him to the Virginia State Corporation Commission, where he gained a unique perspective on the intersection of law and government regulation. Following his time in the public sector, he transitioned into private practice, spending several years handling complex insurance coverage disputes and corporate litigation. This experience provided him with an inside look at how carriers and insureds navigate the legal system, a background that proved invaluable when he eventually decided to switch his focus to plaintiff's litigation.

Today, Sean is a dedicated advocate for individuals, having returned to his roots of serving the community and helping those in need. He utilizes his extensive background in both the military and the private sector to fight for his clients’ rights with a strategic and compassionate approach. When he is away from his legal work, Sean enjoys exploring the natural beauty of the Commonwealth while hiking or spending quality time with his wife and three boys. He is also a passionate home cook who can often be found in the kitchen preparing overly complex meals for his family and friends.
