Meet Richard S. Dellinger

Richard S. Dellinger was born and raised in rural North Carolina, where he achieved a major milestone as the first person in his family to attend college. He enrolled at the University of North Carolina, financing his undergraduate education by working as a cook in local restaurants. While balancing his studies and work, he fully immersed himself in campus life by participating in intramural sports and passionately cheering on the Tar Heel football, basketball, and soccer teams, earning his Bachelor of Arts degree.

Driven to pursue a career in the legal field, Richard remained at his alma mater to earn his Juris Doctor from the University of North Carolina School of Law. During his time in law school, he continued his hardworking approach by working at a small real estate law firm to fund his education. He also sharpened his legal skills by participating in the Legal Assistance Clinic and serving as a dedicated staff member on the Journal of International Law and Commercial Regulation.

After relocating to Florida, Richard embarked on a distinguished legal career that spans over two decades. He initially spent 22 years handling complex litigation teams across the fields of insurance, intellectual property, and finance law. He later transitioned his wealth of experience to focus on helping individuals, serving as Lead Trial Counsel at one of Florida’s largest personal injury firms, and securing millions of dollars in recoveries for his clients.

Today, Richard has built an elite reputation as a Board Certified Civil Trial Lawyer and a preeminent trial advocate. His exceptional skills and ethical standards have earned him an AV Preeminent rating from Martindale Hubbell as well as an invitation into the prestigious American Board of Trial Advocates. Deeply committed to giving back to his profession and community, Richard has also served in major leadership roles, including past President and Board Member for both the local Bar Association and the Legal Aid Society.

Outside of his busy legal practice, Richard is a former youth baseball coach who has happily transitioned into a full-time parent spectator, sideline griller, and number one cheerleader for his teenage son. He treasures quality time spent with his wife, son, and their two adopted dogs, and he can often be found gardening outdoors, running, fishing, hiking, or snow skiing. An avid sports fan, Richard always loves traveling to catch a game and remains a loyal supporter of the Tampa Bay Rays and his beloved UNC Tar Heels.
