Meet Michael A. Wentz
Mike Wentz is a life insurance attorney with Morgan & Morgan who has developed a national practice specializing in life insurance class actions.
Raised in a hardworking, blue-collar community in southern New Jersey, Mike learned early that when large corporations fail to honor their promises, it is ordinary families—not corporate executives—who bear the consequences. Those experiences shaped his commitment to advocacy and inspired him to become the first in his family to graduate from college, earning his undergraduate degree from Rowan University, and later the first in his family to earn a law degree by graduating from Drexel University’s Thomas R. Kline School of Law in 2019. As a practicing attorney, Mike has dedicated his career to representing consumers wronged by billion-dollar insurance companies.
In his relatively young legal career, Mike has served as first-chair counsel in the recovery of tens of millions of dollars in wrongfully denied life insurance benefits. This experience includes obtaining multiple seven-figure recoveries along with being certified as class action counsel appointed to represent approximately 6,000 life insurance policyholders. Today, Mike’s practice includes investigating and prosecuting class actions challenging unlawful, industry-wide life insurance practices while continuing to represent individuals and families in high-stakes life insurance disputes.
Mike’s work has earned recognition including the Philadelphia Trial Lawyers Association's James J. Manderino Award for Trial Advocacy and selection to Super Lawyers’ Pennsylvania Rising Stars list every year since 2023, an honor reserved for no more than 2.5% of Pennsylvania attorneys. While he appreciates these recognitions, Mike considers the most meaningful measure of his work to be the results he achieves for his clients.
