Meet Michael T. Benz

Michael T. Benz began his legal journey at Drexel University's Thomas R. Kline School of Law, where he graduated cum laude and quickly distinguished himself in the courtroom. As a standout member of Drexel's award-winning mock trial team, Michael showcased his exceptional advocacy skills by winning the Texas Young Lawyers Association Regional Competition two years in a row, earning the prestigious honor of Best Advocate on both occasions. His passion for trial strategy left a lasting impression on his alma mater, and after graduation, he became one of the first alumni invited to join the mock trial coaching staff as an adjunct professor to mentor the next generation of legal talent.

Armed with sharp advocacy skills, Michael initially dedicated his career to criminal defense, building vast courtroom experience by trying hundreds of cases. He began this impactful work as an Assistant Defender at the nationally recognized Defender Association of Philadelphia before successfully launching his own private criminal defense practice in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. These formative years in high-stakes defense litigation allowed him to hone his sharp analytical abilities and solidified his professional approach to case management, which is rooted in relentless preparation and an unwavering commitment to his clients.

As a native Buffalonian, Michael eventually returned home to Western New York to raise his family and bring his extensive litigation background back to his home community. Today, he channels that wealth of trial experience into advocating for injured individuals, handling a wide range of personal injury matters across New York State. Michael approaches his practice with the firm motto of preparing every single case as though it will go before a jury, confident that meticulous trial preparation is the absolute key to securing the best possible results for his clients, whether inside or outside of the courtroom.
