Laura Signorelli

Attorney

Laura Signorelli is a highly experienced trial attorney with the Pittsburgh Office. Laura brings to the Morgan & Morgan team her passion for delivering outstanding client advocacy and a sophisticated level of trial skills which she developed and refined over a twenty-five-year period of handling first-chair jury trials. As lead litigator in hundreds of cases, including over two-hundred jury trials, Laura is known for a high win ratio in cases brought to verdict and for achieving trial settlements on the courthouse steps, resulting in outcomes which consistently exceed the client’s expectations.

As a native Pittsburgher, and, having tried cases in a twenty-six-county area in Western Pennsylvania, Laura thoroughly understands courtroom demographics and the key factors that influence juries. She dedicates her practice to helping her clients with the best preparation for the best results.

Laura’s approach to handling cases reflects her deep passion to attend to the needs of her clients, which is reflected in her tenaciousness in handling each case and refusing to retreat from her strong advocacy for her clients until an optimal result is achieved. As an experienced and successful litigator, Laura maintains a very pro-active approach to case handling at the pre-trial stage, with a strong emphasis on settling cases. In every case, Laura is prepared to take matter to a full-scale trial before a jury, and, as a locally recognized and established courtroom advocate, she can use this component of her professional reputation to leverage top value settlements on her client’s matters.

Laura’s high success rate for her clients is garnered by her philosophy of strength through superior preparation and possessing a thorough understanding of her client’s goals as well as their needs. Applying a very empathetic and analytical approach, Laura teams with her clients with very open and collaborative representation, which empowers the client and effects positive changes while in the throes of a devastating and life-altering event such as an injury. Laura’s passion for her work and for solving clients’ problems flows from her family-based approach to her cases. Having grown up as the problem-solver in her large Pittsburgh-based family, and being deeply empathetic towards others, Laura approaches each client and case as she would in helping a family member. Having observed personally, through the experiences of close family members, the devastating effects of the carelessness and negligence of other individuals compounded by the uncaring and often callous indifference of large corporate entities, Laura has dedicated her career to giving a voice to individuals who are often feel unable to stand up for themselves.

Prior to joining Morgan & Morgan, Laura spent nearly twenty-five years working in the insurance industry as an in-house defense attorney.  During this time frame, Laura developed a keen understanding of the factors that are critical to the valuation of cases, the key areas of preparation of her clients based upon the particular facts of the case, and most importantly, the significant aspects of the defense’s case. Having intimate knowledge of the facets of a client’s case that will be targeted by the defense allows Laura to intensely prepare her clients for the best offense for their case and to maximize the case’s value.

Having a strong drive to help fellow community members in need, Laura has used her advocacy skills to help others in the community, and volunteers for local charitable organizations, including charities to assist the underserved and individuals striving to return to the workplace, as well as a local charity assisting young mothers needing shelter and social support. She is active with the PTA as well as her church community.

Laura’s alma mater is Duquesne University School of Law. In addition to her law degree, Laura is also a certified federal and state Mediator. Prior to attending law school, Laura obtained her B.S. in Chemistry, from Duquesne University.

When she is not advocating for her clients, Laura spends much of her free time negotiating the family’s activity schedule with her husband Maurizio, and their two young sons, Antonio, age 11, and Eugene, age 10.
