Meet Laura Moreland

Laura Moreland’s legal journey began in her hometown of Medellin, Colombia, where she pursued her passion for justice at the Universidad Pontificia Bolivariana. After completing her studies and becoming a licensed attorney in the Republic of Colombia in November 2016, she set her sights on expanding her expertise on an international scale. Upon relocating to the United States, Laura continued her rigorous academic pursuits by attending the University of Baltimore School of Law, where she earned her Master of Laws (LL.M.). She further specialized her knowledge at the American University Washington College of Law, earning a diploma in Advanced Studies on Human Rights and International Humanitarian Law.

Since entering the American legal landscape, Laura has dedicated the entirety of her career to representing plaintiffs in the district and circuit courts of Maryland. She achieved admission to the Maryland Bar in December 2020 and was subsequently admitted to practice in the U.S. District Court for the District of Maryland in July 2021. Her practice is defined by a commitment to helping individuals navigate the complexities of the legal system, ensuring their voices are heard and their rights are protected. Her diverse educational background provides her with a unique global perspective that she brings to every case she handles.

Beyond her work in the courtroom, Laura is an active and engaged member of the legal community. She maintains professional affiliations with the Maryland State Bar Association, the Maryland Association for Justice, and the Maryland Hispanic Bar Association. These connections allow her to stay at the forefront of legal developments and collaborate with fellow advocates to better serve her clients. With a friendly and approachable demeanor, Laura continues to use her extensive training and bilingual skills to provide compassionate and effective representation for those seeking justice in her community.
