Meet Kelsey McGillis

Kelsey McGillis was born in Ottawa, Canada, and later moved to the Sunshine State to attend high school at the prestigious Montverde Academy in Florida. Following high school, she pursued her undergraduate studies at the University of Toronto. After completing her degree, Kelsey set off for an exciting international chapter, living and working in Paris, France, for two years. This immersive experience fueled her global outlook and inspired her to return to North America to pursue her legal education at the Sandra Day O'Connor College of Law at Arizona State University, where she became heavily involved in the international law program. During law school, Kelsey built an extraordinary resume of global internships, contributing to UNESCO in Paris, the Clooney Foundation for Justice, and the International Institute for Justice and the Rule of Law in Malta, while also serving as a law clerk for United States Senator Richard Blumenthal.

Following her graduation from law school, Kelsey transitioned into private practice by joining a boutique federal litigation firm in Maryland. During this formative period, she sharpened her skills as a federal litigator, specializing in complex constitutional law matters. She spent her days managing high-stakes civil rights cases and vindicating individuals' rights through claims brought under the First Amendment, the Religious Land Use and Institutionalized Persons Act, Section 1983, the Fair Housing Act, and the Americans with Disabilities Act. This intense federal practice allowed her to develop a deep analytical background and a sophisticated understanding of constitutional protections.

Today, Kelsey brings her diverse international perspective and deep federal-court experience to her legal practice, where she remains fully committed to providing top-tier, compassionate representation to her clients. Outside her demanding legal career, she enjoys a vibrant personal life filled with creative, active hobbies. Kelsey is an avid traveler who loves exploring new destinations, and when she is closer to home, she can be found cooking, reading, thrifting, and hunting for unique treasures at antique shops. She is also a passionate fiber artist who loves spending her quiet time sewing and knitting.
