Meet Johnathan M. Leavitt
Johnathan Leavitt discovered his passion for the law early in life, growing up surrounded by legal discussions and public service. Coming from a respected family of attorneys, he was inspired from childhood by the example of his late grandfather, Nevada Supreme Court Justice Myron Leavitt. Following his family tradition of community advocacy, Johnathan completed his undergraduate studies at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas, before earning his Juris Doctor from the University of Idaho College of Law. During law school, he developed a clear affinity for personal injury litigation, excelling in tort law coursework and discovering his true professional calling in standing up for everyday people harmed by the carelessness of others.
Upon entering practice, Johnathan dedicated himself entirely to plaintiff advocacy. He found genuine purpose in being a reliable pillar of support for clients during some of the most stressful and vulnerable moments of their lives. Guiding injured individuals through the complexities of civil litigation, Johnathan focused on helping families navigate medical treatment and securing full financial accountability against negligent parties. His courtroom advocacy and preparation quickly earned respect across the region, leading to consecutive nominations as a Mountain States Super Lawyers Rising Star from 2019 through 2023.
Beyond his individual casework, Johnathan has consistently invested his energy into protecting civil justice for the broader community. As an active member of the Nevada Justice Association, he participates in essential legislative advocacy and lobbying efforts to safeguard the legal rights of injured citizens and preserve accountability within the state’s court system.
Today, Johnathan brings that dedication and trial readiness to Morgan & Morgan, representing personal injury clients with empathy, warmth, and determination. He lives by two core principles: always be the hardest working person in the room, and you catch more flies with honey than with vinegar. This philosophy allows him to provide a compassionate, reassuring presence for his clients while delivering persuasive, dynamic advocacy before a jury when a dispute goes to trial.
Outside of the courtroom, Johnathan treasures spending quality time traveling and discovering the world with his family. In his downtime, he stays active by playing sports, relaxing at the piano, and following mixed martial arts.
