Headshot of ATTORNEY Joe Putrelo, a Tampa-based personal injury lawyer from Morgan & Morgan

Joe Putrelo

Attorney
(813) 329-6917

Located in downtown Tampa, FL, Joe Putrelo, Esq., primarily handles automobile crash cases. He resonates with his clients because he was once in a similar position. In August 2016, Joe suffered a permanent injury to his lower back, after a pickup truck driver rear-ended Joe at approximately 50 miles per hour.

"When you have a soft tissue injury in your spine, such as a herniated disc, it is a rigorous road to recovery," Joe said. "I feel a deep connection to my clients because I have lived through the process of a personal injury case. I strive to help them return to the quality of life they lived before the crash as much as possible."

Joe is a native of Buffalo, NY. Prior to his career as a lawyer, he was a sports broadcaster at the University of Arizona and, post-college, a local television news reporter and anchor for five years. You can search his name on YouTube for samples of his broadcasting work.

In the fall of 2021, Joe enrolled at Rutgers Law School - Newark, where he focused his coursework on civil litigation. Moreover, he was a member of the Moot Court Board and founded the Tort Law Society, a club for Rutgers Law students interested in pursuing personal injury law or insurance defense. As Tort Law Society President, Joe recruited numerous high-profile injury attorneys to be guest speakers at member meetings.

In the summer of 2022, Joe split time as a Federal Judicial Intern at the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Missouri and as a Summer Associate at Cantor Injury Law in St. Louis, MO. The following summer, he became part of the inaugural Morgan Associate Program ("MAP") at the Morgan & Morgan Tampa office. During his time in the MAP program, Joe finished No. 1 in total billing hours among 60 total MAP interns in Morgan & Morgan offices across the U.S.

In September 2024, Joe was sworn in to the Florida Bar. He is thrilled to return as a lawyer at Morgan & Morgan, serving the people, not the powerful, in the Tampa Bay region.
