Jake Sternberger was born in Pittsburgh and raised with the values of working people like his machinist grandfather who worked for a mill roll manufacturer; his father who worked for an industrial instruments manufacturer; and his mother who worked in medical billing and coding.
Mr. Sternberger proudly attended a public high school where he was elected President of his class, and, due to an academic scholarship, was able to pursue a college education at an elite liberal arts school, Dickinson College, in Carlisle, Pennsylvania.
Mr. Sternberger graduated from Dickinson College summa cum laude, Phi Beta Kappa, and did so in just three years with both a B.A. in Political Science and a certificate in Security Studies. He received various departmental honors, including the Bruce Andrews Prize in Political Science as well as the Charles and Alice Mullin Memorial Prize.
Mr. Sternberger then earned his Juris Doctor at the Pennsylvania State University Dickinson School of Law, where he received the Falvello Memorial Award for diligent application and graduated in the top quarter of his class.
Prior to joining Morgan & Morgan to grow our firm by helping to open our Philadelphia office, Jake served as campaign manager for former Navy Admiral and U.S. Congressman Joe Sestak (PA-7th) in his 2016 run for U.S. Senate. Jake also co-authored Admiral Sestak’s 2015 policy book, Walking in Your Shoes to Restore the American Dream, which the Washington Post acclaimed as “filled with policy proposals.”
Mr. Sternberger also ran Mayor Tim Scott’s historic election as the first African American mayor of Carlisle – the first Democrat in over three decades – and worked for former Congressman Mark Critz in Pennsylvania’s 12th congressional district.
Mr. Sternberger is admitted to practice in Pennsylvania.
