Meet Griffin W. Sher
Griffin Sher was born and raised in Miami, spending his formative years deeply connected to the South Florida marine community. Before ever stepping foot into a law school classroom, Griffin spent years working directly on the water as a boater, deckhand, and dive instructor. That hands-on time at sea gave him an intimate, practical understanding of maritime operations, vessel safety, and the true realities of how accidents occur on the water. This early passion for the ocean took on even greater personal meaning after Hurricane Wilma, when his own family faced the challenge of navigating a complex maritime legal issue, inspiring Griffin to devote his future career to helping families in those exact circumstances.
Driven by his experiences on the water and his family’s story, Griffin pursued his legal education at Tulane University Law School, home to the country's oldest and most renowned maritime law program. He fully dedicated himself to his studies, serving as a Managing Editor of the Tulane Journal of International and Comparative Law and earning two prestigious CALI Awards for Legal Excellence in both Maritime Personal Injury and Corporate Law. Griffin ultimately graduated cum laude with a Certificate of Specialization in Maritime Law, establishing an elite academic foundation designed specifically to serve injured people on the water.
Upon entering private practice, Griffin channeled his specialized legal training and lifelong boating background into advocating for injured cruise ship passengers, crewmembers, and individuals harmed in serious personal injury accidents. Over the course of his litigation career, he has built a strong reputation for holding cruise lines, vessel owners, maritime employers, and other negligent parties accountable. Licensed to practice across all Florida state and federal courts, Griffin uses his deep industry insights to level the playing field for his clients, ensuring they recover the full support and financial resources they need to rebuild their lives.
Today, Griffin brings his specialized maritime expertise and personal commitment to client care to his ongoing legal practice in Florida. He views it as a true honor to stand up for individuals and families in their time of need, providing the exact specialized, fierce advocacy his own family once sought. Outside of the courtroom, Griffin remains deeply connected to the South Florida community and the marine lifestyle that inspired his life's work.
