Meet Eric M. Rice
Eric Rice is a lifelong South Florida resident with deep roots in his local community. He began his higher education journey at the University of Florida, where he earned his undergraduate degree in Economics. Driven by a desire to advocate for others, Eric then attended the University of Miami School of Law to pursue his Juris Doctor. During law school, he discovered a true passion for litigation through the Litigation Skills program. His natural talent and dedication to trial advocacy earned him cum laude honors upon graduation, as well as the prestigious John F. Evans Memorial Scholarship for excellence in trial practice.
Upon entering private practice, Eric focused his career on complex maritime and civil litigation, quickly developing high-level skills in trial preparation and defense strategy. Over the course of his early career, he represented the cruise lines as a senior associate, defending these corporations against serious lawsuits involving personal injury, overservice of alcohol, physical and sexual assault, and crewmember claims. During this time, he also represented maritime plaintiffs in personal injury and assault matters, giving him a balanced, highly strategic understanding of how maritime claims are evaluated and litigated from both sides of the courtroom.
Today, Eric brings this vast defense background and industry knowledge to the team at Morgan and Morgan. He has dedicated his practice to leveling the playing field for individuals, using the strategies he learned while representing the cruise lines. His areas of concentration include personal injury, overservice, boating and yacht accidents, physical and sexual assaults, crewmember and maritime worker claims, and jet ski or watercraft accidents.
Outside the office, Eric loves spending quality time with his family and his Australian Shepherd, playing soccer, cooking, and cheering on all of the South Florida sports teams.
