Meet Douglas Gromack
Douglas Gromack leads the firm’s Workers’ Compensation practice in New Jersey, where he brings a well-rounded perspective to representing injured workers, drawing on a legal career shaped by judicial service, public-sector advocacy, and years of defending workers’ compensation claims.
Douglas earned his law degree from Rutgers, attending on a full scholarship and earning Dean’s List honors. During law school, he served as a judicial intern to the Honorable Berle M. Schiller of the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania, drafting memoranda on unsettled criminal and civil law issues. He also worked as a research assistant to Professor J.C. Lore III, helping develop trial advocacy textbooks used by prominent law schools across the country.
After graduation, Douglas served as a law clerk to the Honorable Lawrence P. DeBello of the Superior Court of New Jersey, conducting legal research and drafting opinions on matters involving juvenile delinquency, domestic violence, and special immigrant juvenile status. He then joined the Office of the Public Defender for the State of New Jersey and advocated for individuals facing serious legal challenges.
Before joining Morgan & Morgan, Douglas was a partner at one of the nation’s largest defense firms, where he spent eight years representing prominent insurance carriers, third-party administrators, self-insured businesses, and Fortune 500 companies across a broad range of industries, including retail, transportation, hospitality, pharmaceutical, and manufacturing. In that role, he handled complex workers’ compensation claims involving occupational disease, chemical exposure, COVID-19 fatalities, jurisdictional issues, and employment-related disputes.
That background gives Douglas a distinct advantage in representing injured workers. He understands how employers, carriers, and defense counsel evaluate, investigate, and challenge workers’ compensation claims, and he uses that knowledge to help clients secure the benefits and medical treatment they deserve.
